Groupe Charlois welcomed this week Philippe Melka, one of the most influential consulting enologists of the Californian vineyard.

French winemaker trained in Bordeaux school, Philippe Melka arrived in the United States in the 90’s. Graduated in Geology at the University of Bordeaux and with a Master’s degree in Agronomy and Enology, he now heads the Atelier Melka and works with the most famous properties of Napa.

Visiting Murlin last Tuesday, Philippe Melka, accompanied by six other Californian winemakers, have discovered the various activities of the Group, from oaks felling in the forest to woods analysis in the laboratory.

Through winter temperature but under a big blue sky, the Californian team then continued its visit on the big Burgundy cellars side.
