My beautiful Christmas tree!
21 December 2023The Christmas tree is an essential part of the festive season. In Murlin, we like to uphold tradition and this year it’s all homemade!
A Christmas tree from Le Morvan and decorations from Murlin, from the cooperage and from the forest. Jérôme Legrand, chef at the Auberge des Bertranges, was the project manager, an artist at heart and a master of the makeshift! The result is our kind of Christmas tree – simple and inviting.
It came about thanks to a participative initiative in which the Manufacture Tonnelière La Grange took part by putting aside wood shavings from the hollowing out of the staves and offcuts from the drilling of the bung holes in the barrels… What may appear to be of little value is in fact quite the opposite! “We’re used to making do with what we have at hand, with what nature offers us. We recover and recycle. Decorating the Christmas trees in Murlin is no exception to this way of thinking”.
Pine cones, broom and holly from the nearby forest, a ground covering of wood shavings surrounded by a low wall made of stave wood offcuts from Maison Charlois, a bit of imagination, gold paint, a few baubles, fairy lights and a bit of taste – and there you have it! The same operation was repeated in several buildings on the Murlin site: the Laboratoire Exact, the Maison Charlois reception area and, of course, the Auberge des Bertranges. All were decorated by Jérôme to the delight of all the site’s staff. This is the perfect opportunity for us to wish everyone a very happy festive season!
