Groupe Charlois and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
7 March 2019
Since 2004, Groupe Charlois has been involved in the sustainable forest management programme (PEFC) and Bureau Veritas Certification certified each year the compliance with PEFC standards.
What is PEFC certification?
PEFC is an international NGO. Forest certification is a voluntary, market-based instrument, implemented through two separate but linked processes: sustainable forest management certification and Chain of Custody certification.
PEFC: awareness of the forest environmental challenges
Forests play a critical role for the global environment, population and economy. Besides alleviating the effects of climate change and natural disasters, they represent some of the richest biological areas on Earth. They also provide food, renewable raw materials for many of our products, and livelihoods for millions of people.
It is in this way that PEFC was born in France in 1999, supported by associations, public authorities and operators of the forestry and wood sector.
PEFC certification promotes sustainable forest management and hence benefits environment, people and economy.
The PEFC label helps you make a simple choice: choosing a beautiful product made from a natural, renewable resource – supporting our forests and helping them to flourish!
