Elimination of Plastic Cups and Distribution of Reusable Water Bottles to Employees

29 June 2020

Given the number of disposable cups consumed annually across its various facilities, and recognizing the urgent need to reduce the impact of plastic pollution, the Charlois Group has decided to completely eliminate disposable cups from its sites. Previously, these cups, provided for employees, were systematically recycled in compliance with the law.

However, recycling is no longer sufficient given the urgency of addressing plastic pollution. The group has therefore decided to get ahead of the timeline for bans on plastic products; the ban on “packaging” cups in workplaces officially came into effect in July 2021.

In recent weeks, each employee has been provided with a reusable water bottle, which will enable the group to avoid consuming 350,000 to 390,000 disposable cups per year. A true ecological alternative to plastic, these bottles are made from a durable, resistant, and 100% recyclable material with an infinite lifecycle.
With a capacity of 400ml, they feature a carabiner on the cap, making them easy to carry. Branded in the colors of each company, these new bottles also encourage employees to stay better hydrated.
