Tattooed barrel

Connected in the past to rites of passage in traditional societies, tattooing practice was then largely popularized and now appears to be as a quite common body ornament.

Tattooing art – its aesthetic, symbolism and thematics – can now be declined into various substrates as the barrel tattooed by Yannick Meziani, one of the most famous tattoo artist in the Nièvre, during the 2016 Vinitech trade fair. Yannick Meziani realized this work using a woodburning iron.

The artist took his inspiration for this work from the traditional Japanese tattoo. A dragon, whose movement is accentuated by the barrel form, appears among many vegetal motifs.
