The La Chênaie cosmetic skincare brand is committed daily to reducing its environmental footprint while prioritizing short supply chains

Since the launch of the first La Chênaie range in 2016, the cardboard used for packaging the skincare products has been sourced from sustainably managed and certified forests FSC*. The supplier of the cardboard boxes is also based in Couches, in Saône-et-Loire (Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region), not far from Murlin, the historic site of the groupe Charlois.

For its Pétrasève® hydrating range, La Chênaie wanted to extend its environmental commitment by opting for bio-based inks. The inks used in the packaging are made up of 69% plant-based raw materials, with a quarter of these being vegetable oils.**.

Still within the range of hydrating skincare products with Pétrasève, La Chênaie has gone even further in the eco-design of its packaging with the tubes for Hydra Gommage and Hydra Gel Douche. The tubes of these two cosmetic products are made from recyclable bioplastics sourced from sugarcane. Thanks to this natural, non-fossil material, the carbon footprint of the bioplastic tubes is 50% lower than that of conventional plastic tubes (PE).

A set of actions that thus helps reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources while contributing, through the growth of the plants used in the design of packaging (such as wood and sugarcane), to the absorption of CO2 present in the atmosphere!

*The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international forest certification system with an integrated accreditation program. The FSC label promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable forest management

**These plant-based raw materials come from the cultivation of rapeseed, hemp, or corn, primarily in the form of resins.
