Festival Nuits des Forêts 2022

the third edition of Nuits des forêts will take place from June 17 to 26 across France. The festival invites you to explore the forest and meet the men and women who live in it, cultivate it, protect it, and draw inspiration from it.

It All Begins with the Forest: Our Heritage, Our Future

As a major player in the wood industry committed to sustainable forest management, the Charlois Group naturally partners with Nuits des Forêts for the third consecutive year, offering a rich and diverse program centered around its initiatives to enhance the value of oak.

For two weekends (June 18/19 and June 25/26), the village of Murlin will become the epicenter of the Nuits des Forêts festival in the Nièvre region. Activities will include cooperage demonstrations, conferences on the professions of forestry experts and nursery/reforestation specialists, cultural and educational events, wine-tasting workshops to explore oak’s contributions to wine, and games.

It will also be an opportunity to discover the new exhibition space of the Fonds Charlois for Art and the Forest, featuring collections that span four centuries of forest history and related trades. The inaugural exhibition will spotlight South Korean artist Lee Jaehyo, whose often monumental works stand out for their rich details. Blending modern art and design, Lee Jaehyo’s creations are shaped by the materials they are composed of—most prominently wood, which is showcased in all its nuances and properties

Colchiques dans les sprays : A festival within the festival!

Urban art (street art) goes rural during the festival, thanks to the pARTcours collective, which is behind this event. Nine renowned street artists will join us in Murlin, transforming a space to showcase their art. Activities include pre-festival interventions starting on June 17, live sessions during both weekends (June 18/19 and June 25/26), a free-expression wall, and a graffiti workshop with materials available for beginners.

At the same time, the Nuits des Forêts festival offers those who are interested the opportunity to join the réserve forestière as volunteers, allowing them to become active contributors to the forest over the years, ready to assist foresters in various initiatives.
