Exceptional evening at the distillery of Lignères for the 57th Congress of Enologists

The Groupe Charlois was again partner of the National Congress of Enologists organized this year in Cognac from 8 to 10 June by the Union of Enologists of France.

The winegrowers’ evening of 9 June sponsored by the Groupe Charlois took place in the beautiful setting of Château de Lignères in Rouillac, hosted by Martell & Co, also partner.

A tasting offered by the cooperages of the Group and commented by Alexandre Schmitt, expert in wine aromas, allowed a perfect start of the evening with the 250 enologists of the congress.

As part of the theme of this year « Ode to aromas’ life », the tasting focused on a comparison of the bendings of the cooperages Leroi and Saury as well as the different origins of wood from the tonnellerie Ermitage.

La Chênaie was also represented on the event and filled the women of the congress by introducing them to the range of products developed with a patented oak extract.

Finally, the evening ended with a tasting of cognac in the heart of the distillery of Château de Lignères to accompany the succulent dinner at the height of the event !
