For the Third Year in a Row theFonds Charlois pour l’Art et la Forêt and the Manufacture tonnelière La Grange will open their doors on September 21 and 22, 2024, for theEuropean Heritage Days.. A special edition for the Manufacture tonnelière La Grange which was awarded the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant (EPV) label in recognition of its excellence in traditional craftsmanship.

 

Join us in Murlin on September 21 and 22, from 10 AM to 6 PM, to (re)discover the exhibition spaces of the Charlois Foundation, dedicated to the forest and its related crafts, as well as the timeless skills and expertise of the exceptional coopers at La Grange Cooperage.

 

The coopers of La Grange Cooperage will passionately showcase their craft and the various steps involved in the making of an oak barrel, including: shaping the staves (dolage, jointing), assembling the barrel (mise en rose), bending and aromatic toasting over a brazier (cintrage and chauffe aromatique), closing (fonçage), and hooping (cerclage).

 

The mosaic artist Soeur Samuelle will be present throughout the weekend in the Fonds Charlois spaces to showcase the exhibition RÉGÉNÉRÉ and share her art and passions with visitors.

 

Wine tasting workshops featuring wines aged in oak barrels will also be offered throughout the weekend. Practical information and reservations for the tasting workshops: https://www.fondscharlois.com
