Limiting the impact on the environment is the fundamental rule guiding each of the actions of the Charlois group and particularly its transport activity Charlois Premium Logistics (CPL), which is daily in search of solutions to reduce its carbon footprint.

In recent years, CPL has implemented three main areas of improvement in their organization for the benefit of the planet: adaptation, optimization, and training.

Adaptation
In order to reduce its carbon impact, CPL opts for vehicles meeting the latest anti-pollution standards and plans to have, by the end of 2021, an entirely renewed fleet, cleaner, less fuel-consuming, and better adapted to the group’s various goods.

Optimization
Upstream of the journey, logistical optimization is carried out to reduce CO2 emissions per transported unit. This work is done through the development of the most suitable transport plan for the group’s needs, while maximizing volumes per vehicle and minimizing empty trips.

Training
It also appears essential to raise awareness among its teams about eco-driving: encouraging smooth driving, reducing the average driving speed, turning off the engine during prolonged stops, limiting the use of air conditioning, etc.

The CPL teams remain attentive to new innovations arriving on the market in order to always implement the solution best limiting the company’s carbon footprint while respecting its operational constraints.
