For an immersive stay, La Chênaie welcomed several content creators from the worlds of fashion, gastronomy and lifestyle to Murlin: Chloé Penel, Armelle Perves, Héloïse Brion, Nathalie Oliver and Maï de Colnet. Two days to discover that behind the brand lies far more than a source of inspiration: a family history, a region and an intimate knowledge of oak.

La Chênaie was not born from an imagined story built around the forest. Its origins lie in the very real history of Charlois, shaped over several generations by oak, its uses and its benefits. It was this unique heritage that the guests were invited to discover in the heart of Murlin, where family heritage, the Group’s expertise and the world of the brand come together.

The stay began with an introduction to the history of the Charlois family, before taking the guests into the forest and then to the La Grange Cooperage and the Exact Laboratory. From the tree to scientific analysis, from material shaped by the hand of the craftsman to properties revealed through research, this journey gave them a deeper understanding of the depth and coherence of the world in which La Chênaie has its roots.

A tasting workshop then extended this discovery, offering a sensory experience of the influence of oak on wine. The day ended with a candlelit dinner held in the heart of the cooperage itself. In this unexpected setting, a simple yet refined scenography offered a new perspective on the place, highlighting the beauty of the gestures, materials and objects that make up the daily life of the workshop.

The second day was devoted to a more intimate and sensory experience of the forest. A forest therapy and meditation session, followed by a beauty workshop held in the heart of nature, provided a tangible connection between La Chênaie skincare and its source of inspiration. The rustling of leaves, the feel of bark, the scents of the undergrowth and the majestic presence of the trees brought to life a world that the brand, in turn, translates into its products and skincare rituals.

The stay concluded with a countryside lunch by the shores of Lake Candie, nestled in the Bertranges Forest, featuring local produce and a Burgundy-inspired menu. One final convivial moment, designed in an almost family-like spirit of sharing, true to the hospitality of Murlin.

Our guests highlighted the authenticity of the experience and the unique nature of this immersion. Accustomed to highly elaborate settings, they were particularly touched by the truth of a story, the richness of a living heritage and the deep coherence between a place, its expertise and a brand.

La Chênaie draws inspiration from the world of Charlois, its close connection to the forest and its intimate knowledge of oak. In return, it offers a new, sensitive and contemporary expression of this world, revealing in a different way what oak has to offer.

For Charlois, it is essential to bring this world to life in all its reality: that of Murlin, its history, landscapes and hospitality, but also that of a group whose businesses are built around the forest and the sustainable use of oak. It is in the meeting of these two dimensions, a deeply rooted territory and a model built over time, that La Chênaie draws its uniqueness. Here, the world of the brand is not a backdrop: it is the sensitive expression of a story that is lived every day.

We would like to warmly thank Chloé Penel, Armelle Perves, Héloïse Brion, Nathalie Oliver and Maï de Colnet for their enthusiasm and for sharing their discovery of our world with their communities.
