2026 European Heritage Days
On the occasion of the 2026 European Heritage Days, come and discover the craft of traditional cooperage on Sunday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., by visiting Manufacture tonnelière La Grange, a recipient of the prestigious Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company) label.
The coopers will share their passion for their craft and demonstrate the various stages involved in making an oak barrel: shaping the staves (dressing, jointing, etc.), raising the barrel, bending and toasting over a brazier, fitting the heads and hooping.
Discover the centuries-old techniques and craftsmanship of these exceptional coopers, whose creations are shaped and hooped entirely by hand from the finest oak staves. Like a precious case, each barrel is thus ready to enhance the wines of the world’s greatest terroirs.
